Larisa Nikitina

Larisa Turchinskaya, born Larisa Nikitina on 29 April 1965 in Kostroma, is a retired Russian heptathlete. She represented the Soviet Union during a golden era for Soviet women in combined events athletics.

Turchinskaya competed at the highest level of international athletics in the heptathlon, an event that demands excellence across seven different disciplines: the 100 metres hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 metres, long jump, javelin throw, and 800 metres.

Her career as a heptathlete showcased the remarkable all-around athletic ability required to compete in one of track and field's most demanding events, earning her recognition as one of Russia's notable combined events athletes.
