Julien Alfred is a Saint Lucian sprinter born on June 10, 2001, in Castries. Standing 171 cm tall, she competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres and has become her country's first-ever Olympic medallist, rewriting the history of Caribbean athletics.

Alfred won the gold medal in the 100 metres at the 2024 Summer Olympics, setting a national record of 10.72 seconds and becoming Saint Lucia's first Olympic champion. She added silver in the 200 metres at the same Games. She also won gold in the 60 metres at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships and silver in the 100 metres at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. As a collegiate athlete, she became a three-time NCAA Division I individual champion and the first woman in NCAA history to break seven seconds in the 60 metres.

As an Olympic champion and World Indoor champion, Alfred has achieved legendary status in Saint Lucian and Caribbean sport. Her historic victories have elevated her small island nation onto the global athletics stage and established her as one of the fastest women in the world.
