Jonathan Edwards is an English former triple jumper who is regarded as one of the greatest in the history of the event. He has held the world record in the triple jump since 1995 and won gold medals at the Olympic Games, two World Championships, the European Championships, the European Indoor Championships, and the Commonwealth Games.

Edwards established himself as the dominant triple jumper of the 1990s through a combination of technical mastery and remarkable consistency at major championships. His world record remains one of the longest-standing marks in track and field.

Following his retirement as an athlete, Edwards pursued a career in sports broadcasting, working as a commentator and presenter for BBC television before moving to Eurosport. He was elected President of the Wenlock Olympian Society in 2011 and served as a member of the London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
