Chad Harting

Chad Harting is a retired American pole vaulter born on February 20, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri. Standing 183 cm and weighing 75 kg, he competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and won silver at the 1997 Summer Universiade.

Harting achieved a personal best of 5.80 metres indoors in January 2000 in Reno, Nevada. His outdoor personal best was 5.75 metres. The silver medal at the 1997 Summer Universiade demonstrated his ability to compete at the international level against top collegiate vaulters from around the world.

His Olympic appearance in Sydney represented the culmination of his competitive pole vault career. Harting's consistency at the national and international level placed him among America's top vaulters during the late 1990s.
