Bryan Clay

Bryan Ezra Tsumoru Clay is an American decathlete born on January 3, 1980, in Austin, Texas. Standing 180 cm tall and weighing 83 kg, he won Olympic gold at the 2008 Beijing Games and was World champion in 2005.

Clay's Olympic and World Championship victories established him as the world's premier decathlete of his era. His Japanese heritage is reflected in his middle name, Tsumoru.

His dominance in the decathlon's ten demanding events demonstrated the all-around athletic excellence required to reach the pinnacle of multi-event competition.
