
Bryan Bronson
John Bryan Bronson is an American 400-metre hurdler born on September 9, 1972, in Jasper, Texas. He won bronze at the 1997 World Championships and his personal best of 47.03 seconds ranks sixth on the all-time list.
Bronson won three consecutive USA Outdoor Championships from 1996 to 1998 and competed at the 1996 Olympics. He was named Gatorade National Track and Field Athlete of the Year in his youth and Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year in 1991. He won the 1993 NCAA outdoor 400m hurdles title at Rice University.
He narrowly missed winning the million-dollar IAAF Golden League jackpot in 1998, winning the first six meetings before finishing sixth in the Grand Prix Final. His career was interrupted by a two-year doping ban in 1999, and he never returned to top championship competition after 2004.
