Anthuan Maybank is a retired American sprinter born on December 30, 1969, in Georgetown, South Carolina. Standing 188 cm and weighing 81 kg, he specialized in the 400 metres and won Olympic gold in the 4x400 metre relay at the 1996 Atlanta Games, running the anchor leg to hold off Great Britain's Roger Black.

Maybank attended Georgetown High School, where he set the South Carolina state record in the 400 metres at 46.67 seconds under coach Freddie Young. He earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Iowa, becoming an All-American in both the 400 metres and long jump.

Though relatively unknown at the time of his Olympic victory, Maybank confirmed his talent weeks later by winning the 400 metres at the prestigious meeting in Zurich. He currently resides in Delaware and serves as the sprint coach at Tatnall School, passing on his expertise to the next generation of athletes.
