Usain Bolt is a Jamaican retired sprinter widely regarded as the greatest sprinter of all time. He is an eight-time Olympic gold medalist and holds the world records in the 100 metres (9.58 seconds), 200 metres (19.19 seconds), and 4 x 100 metres relay (36.84 seconds). He is the only sprinter to win both the 100 m and 200 m titles at three consecutive Olympic Games, in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

Bolt first gained worldwide fame with his double sprint victory in world record times at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, becoming the first person to hold both sprint records since fully automatic timing became mandatory. An eleven-time World Champion, he won consecutive 100 m, 200 m, and 4 x 100 m relay gold medals from 2009 to 2015, making him the most successful male athlete in World Championships history. He was the first to run sub-9.7 and sub-9.6 second 100 m races, and the first to win four World Championship titles in the 200 m.

Bolt's achievements earned him numerous accolades, including the IAAF World Athlete of the Year award, the Track and Field Athlete of the Year honor, three BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year awards, and four Laureus World Sportsman of the Year titles. He was included in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2016 and retired after the 2017 World Championships.
