Tye Harvey

Tye Harvey is an American pole vaulter born on September 25, 1974, in Sonora, Texas. He won the silver medal at the 2001 World Indoor Championships in Lisbon with a vault of 5.90 metres.

Harvey established a career best of 5.93 metres indoors in March 2001 in Atlanta, and his outdoor personal best was 5.81 metres achieved in July 2000 in San Marcos, Texas. He was an All-American vaulter for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, finishing runner-up in the pole vault at the 1997 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships.

Since 2004, Harvey has been married to high jumper Amy Acuff. His World Indoor Championship silver medal represents the highlight of a career that saw him compete at the highest levels of American and international pole vaulting.
