
Sean Furey
Sean Furey is an American Olympic javelin thrower born on August 31, 1982, in Methuen, Massachusetts. Standing 188 cm and weighing 90 kg, he achieved a personal best of 83.08 meters.
Furey won the U.S. National Championship in the javelin three times, capturing titles in 2010, 2014, and 2015, with six top-three finishes overall. He represented the United States in international competition from 2009 to 2016, including two Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016, two World Championships in 2009 and 2015, and two Pan American Games in 2011 and 2015.
At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Furey qualified for the final with a season-best throw and finished twelfth. His longevity on the international circuit, spanning seven years of major championship competition, demonstrated his consistency as one of America's top javelin throwers.
