
Rodney Martin
Rodney Martin is an American sprinter born on December 22, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Standing 173 cm and weighing 73 kg, he attended Western High School before becoming a three-time All-American at the University of South Carolina, where he set indoor and outdoor 200-metre school records.
Martin finished fourth in the 200 metres at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, missing the bronze medal by one-hundredth of a second. He earned a gold medal as an alternate on the victorious U.S. 4x100 metre relay at those championships. Martin made the 2008 Olympic team in Beijing, running the first leg of the 4x100 metre relay, though the team did not finish due to a baton exchange error.
Following his athletic career, Martin pursued music, forming King Martin Music Group in Houston, Texas. As of 2014, he was serving in the United States Navy, demonstrating his continued service to his country after representing it on the track.
