Kevin Mayer, born on 10 February 1992 in Argenteuil, France, is a French athlete specializing in the decathlon and indoor heptathlon. He is a two-time World Champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, and the world record holder in the decathlon with 9,126 points, set in 2018.

Mayer first made his mark by winning the World Junior decathlon title in 2010. He rose through the senior ranks with European Championship medals in heptathlon and decathlon before claiming Olympic silver at the 2016 Rio Games.

He won his first World Championship gold in decathlon in 2017 and followed it up by setting the world record in 2018, the same year he became World Indoor heptathlon champion. After a second Olympic silver at the 2020 Tokyo Games, he won his second World Championship decathlon title in 2022. Mayer is also a three-time European champion in the indoor heptathlon.
