
Jim Dilling
Jim Dilling is an American former high jumper born on April 23, 1985, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Standing approximately 196 cm and weighing 88 kg, he won the 2007 USA Outdoor Championship with a personal best of 2.30 meters.
Dilling's breakthrough came during the 2007 season when he captured the national title and set his personal best. He was coached by Cliff Rovelto and represented by agent Ray Flynn during his competitive career. His success at the national championship level established him among America's top high jumpers of his era.
After retiring from competition, Dilling transitioned into coaching. He currently serves as head track and field coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato, taking over the program following the retirement of longtime coach Mark Schuck. His journey from national champion to collegiate coach reflects a common path for elite American field event athletes.
