Ethan Katzberg is a Canadian hammer thrower born on April 5, 2002, in Nanaimo, Canada. Standing at 198 cm tall, he has quickly emerged as the dominant force in men's hammer throw, establishing himself as one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the event at a remarkably young age.
Katzberg's list of achievements is extraordinary for an athlete still in his early twenties. He is the 2024 Olympic champion in the hammer throw, having claimed gold at the Paris Games. He is also a two-time World Champion, winning the title at both the 2023 and 2025 World Championships. Beyond these major global titles, he added a gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games and earned a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, showcasing his consistency at the top level across multiple championship formats.
With an Olympic gold and two World Championship titles already secured before his 24th birthday, Katzberg has positioned himself as a generational talent in the hammer throw. His dominance of the event at such a young age, combined with his physical attributes and technical skill, suggests he could remain at the forefront of the discipline for many years to come.
