
Darryl Sullivan Jr.
Darryl Sullivan is an American high jumper born on December 28, 1997, in Marion, Illinois. He became a four-time All-American at the University of Tennessee and represented the United States at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Sullivan won both the long jump and high jump at the IHSA State Finals as a high school senior, and still holds the class 2A State Finals Meet record in the high jump. At the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field, he equalled his personal best of 2.33 metres to finish second overall and secure his spot on the American team. At the Tokyo Olympics, he jumped 2.17 metres in the qualifying round.
As an Olympic high jumper and four-time collegiate All-American, Sullivan has established himself among America's top vertical jumpers. His progression from state record-holder to Olympic team member reflects his development as one of the premier American high jumpers of his generation.
