Cory Martin is an American shot putter born on May 22, 1985, in Bloomington, Indiana. He has achieved world-class status in the event, with his best international performance being ninth place at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow.

Martin's outdoor personal best of 22.10 metres, set in 2010, placed him tied at number 21 on the world all-time list as of 2017, demonstrating his standing among the elite throwers in shot put history. His indoor personal best of 20.98 metres was set in 2013.

His performances at the World Championships and his position on the all-time list reflect years of dedicated training in one of track and field's most demanding power events. Martin's consistency at the international level established him as one of America's premier shot putters of his generation.
