Chris Solinsky is a retired American distance runner born on December 5, 1984, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He held the American record in the 10,000 metres with a time of 26:59.60 and became the first non-African to break the 27-minute barrier in the event.

Solinsky won eight state championships in high school before becoming a five-time NCAA Division I champion at the University of Wisconsin. His collegiate success established him among the greatest American distance runners to emerge from the NCAA system.

Following his competitive career, Solinsky transitioned into coaching and currently serves as assistant coach of the Oregon Ducks cross country team at the University of Oregon. His historic 10,000-metre performance and subsequent coaching career continue his influence on American distance running.
