Jeff Demps

Jeff Demps is an American former sprinter and football player born on January 8, 1990, in Winter Garden, Florida. Standing 170 cm and weighing 79 kg, he excelled at both sports at the University of Florida, becoming the only Gator athlete to win national championships in two sports.

Demps matched the 100 meters world junior record with 10.01 seconds in June 2008. At Florida, he won the 2009 BCS National Championship as a running back and captured multiple indoor and outdoor track titles during his four-year career. In 2012, he prioritized the Olympic Trials over the NFL draft, pursuing his track career before eventually signing with the New England Patriots.

His NFL career included time with the Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Indianapolis Colts, though he only saw regular season playing time with the Buccaneers. Demps's dual-sport success at the highest collegiate level remains a rare achievement in modern American athletics.
