Gabriel Tual

Gabriel Tual is a French middle-distance runner born on April 9, 1998, in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. He specializes in the 800 metres and has become one of the fastest men in history over the distance, ranking as the sixth-fastest man and second-fastest European of all time.

Tual reached the 800 metres final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing seventh. He became the European Champion in the 800 metres at the 2024 European Athletics Championships, becoming the first Frenchman to achieve this feat. His personal best of 1:41.61, set at the 2024 Meeting de Paris, places him among the all-time greats. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he finished sixth in the final with a time of 1:42.14.
