
Ato Boldon
Ato Jabari Boldon is a Trinidadian former sprinter, politician, and broadcaster born on December 30, 1973, in Port of Spain. He is a four-time Olympic medal winner and one of the Caribbean's most celebrated track and field athletes.
Boldon holds Trinidad and Tobago national records in the 50 metres, 60 metres, and 200 metres with times of 5.64, 6.49, and 19.77 seconds respectively. He also holds the Commonwealth Games record in the 100 metres. He ran the 100 metres in 9.86 seconds on four occasions, which stood as the national record until Richard Thompson ran 9.85 seconds in August 2011.
After retiring from athletics, Boldon served as an Opposition Senator in the Trinidad and Tobago Parliament from 2006 to 2007. He has since become a prominent NBC Sports television broadcast analyst for track and field, sharing his expertise with global audiences.
