Tom Mccants

Tom McCants is a retired American high jumper born on November 27, 1962. He achieved world-class status in the event and competed at major international championships during the late 1980s.

McCants finished twelfth at the 1987 World Championships in Rome, demonstrating his ability to compete with the world's best high jumpers. He also competed at the 1989 World Indoor Championships, though he did not reach the final in that competition.

His personal best jump of 2.37 metres, achieved in May 1988 in Columbus, Ohio, places him among the elite American high jumpers of his generation. This height required exceptional technique, speed, and athleticism, reflecting McCants's dedication to mastering one of track and field's most demanding vertical events.
