Guye Adola Idemo is an Ethiopian long-distance runner born on October 20, 1990, in Adola in Ethiopia's Oromiya Region. He specializes in the half marathon and marathon, establishing himself as one of Ethiopia's elite road runners through numerous international victories.
Adola burst onto the scene by winning the 2014 Marrakech Half Marathon and claiming bronze at the 2014 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships with a personal best of 59:21. His marathon debut at the 2017 Berlin Marathon was historic, as he challenged Eliud Kipchoge and finished second in 2:03:46, the fastest marathon debut at that time.
He went on to win the 2021 Berlin Marathon. With his Delhi Half Marathon victory in 59:06 and Berlin Marathon triumph, Adola has proven himself among the world's best road racers.
