Garrett Johnson

Garrett Johnson is an American entrepreneur and shot putter born on May 24, 1984, in Tampa, Florida. He won both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Shot Put Championships in 2006 and was named a Rhodes Scholar the same year.

Johnson's combination of athletic and academic excellence led to his Rhodes Scholarship on behalf of the United States, one of the most prestigious academic honors available. His double NCAA championship in the shot put demonstrated his dominance in the event at the collegiate level.

Beyond athletics, Johnson has built a successful career in technology and innovation. He is cofounder and Chairman of the Foundation for American Innovation and cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of Hydra Host, a startup valued at $500 million backed by Peter Thiel.
