Chris Jones

Chris Jones is an American former sprinter born on October 8, 1973. He competed for the Rice Owls track and field team and specialized in the 400 metres.

Jones finished second in the 400 metres at both the 1994 NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships, demonstrating remarkable consistency across both surfaces. His runner-up finishes at the national championships placed him among the top collegiate quarter-milers in the country.

His performances at the NCAA Championships established Jones as one of the premier 400-metre runners in collegiate track and field during the mid-1990s. The Rice program benefited from his competitive success at the national level.
