Birhanu Balew is a Bahrain long-distance runner, born on February 27, 1996. Standing 1.70 m and weighing 59 kg, He competes primarily in the 3000m, 5000m and 10000m.

His personal bests include 7:31.77 in the 3000m, 12:48.67 in the 5000m, 27:07.49 in the 10000m, 59:41 in the Semi and 13:02 in the 5Kilometre. He has earned 9 gold medals in major international competitions. He is currently active on the international athletics circuit, representing Bahrain.
