Andy Preciado

Andy Federico Preciado Madrigal is an Ecuadorian decathlete born on October 12, 1997, in Rioverde. He competes in the demanding ten-event combined discipline and has established himself as Ecuador's greatest all-around athlete.

Preciado has held the Ecuadorian decathlon national record since 2017 and dramatically improved it to 8004 points when winning the 2021 South American Championships in Guayaquil. His championship victory featured a remarkable 476-point improvement on his previous record, achieved through five personal bests including 10.95 in the 100m, 51.28 in the 400m, 14.23 in the 110m hurdles, 4.50m in the pole vault, and 4:45.03 in the 1500m.

As Ecuador's national record holder and South American champion, Preciado stands as his country's finest decathlete in history. His breakthrough performance at the South American Championships established him among the elite multi-event athletes in the region.
